This is the 3rd year in a row that Reset’s Community Living Room will host an event for National Poetry Month - a grassroots community space for anyone to recite their own or others’ poetry.  We’ll have breaks to get out of our heads and into our bodies with dance, sauna, and crafts!

Similar to before, we'll have Jude Rajakariar on Djembe and Peaches DJing. There will be light snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments. You are invited to share your own work or someone else's and we celebrate those who prefer to witness rather than share.

Tickets are $15 + HST. If that is a barrier in any way, we are happy to provide you with a free ticket, no questions asked.  Children are welcome to join - no ticket required.

Co-Facilitated by Paradox and local poet/facilitator, Hannah Atkinson Renglich, the theme is Weather - both outer and inner.  As people who live in what is now known as Canada, we speak about the weather outside an awful lot…but not as much about the weather inside. When facilitating gatherings, Hannah often invites folks to share their inner weather. What is inner weather, you may ask?

Inner weather is a metaphor for the ever-changing emotional landscape contained in each of us. It may be a complex internal ecosystem of joys, griefs, confusions, aspirations and much more.

As our global weather systems grow increasingly intense, volatile, chaotic, and extreme, it may not be surprising to notice that so, too, do our inner weather systems.  We can both prepare for the weather and take refuge from it; bear witness to the extremes and find ways to mitigate the storms.

Together is always better. Bring your words and your weather. We can’t wait to see you.

*We invite you to bring any poetry you are called to share and have witnessed - it doesn’t necessarily have to be perfectly curated to be on this theme.
